Rookie racers aplenty will contest the 2025 FIM Endurance World Championship. As the countdown to the EWC season-opening 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans next month continues, FIMEWC.com profiles one of three newcomers Honda No Limits is counting on in 2025.
Name: Gabriele Giannini
Born: 11/10/2022
Country: Italy
Team: Honda No Limits
Motorcycle: Honda CBR1000RR-R
Category: Superstock
Who? A racer since 2009 thanks “to the passion passed on by my father”, Gabriele Giannini is aiming to transfer impressive sprint racing pedigree to the Dunlop-supplied FIM Endurance World Cup in 2025. For somebody who started out by “going with rental minibikes to a track near my house”, that’s some achievement.
Why EWC? “The attraction for the EWC comes from a challenge with myself, knowing that they are very hard and long races. I wanted to get involved with a different stimulus. I know that the EWC is a very popular championship and that in every race there is a great atmosphere, with many fans supporting us. They will give us a lot of energy to not give up.”
How’s he got here? According to his No Limits Motor Team, “Gabriele is a talent that makes a difference”, having been a “star on the track for eight years”. The 22-year-old, who has competed at World Supersport level, considers “the most important successes in my career are the victories in the 2014 Italian MiniGP 50 Championship, the Italian Premoto3 Championship in 2016, and in CIV 1000 in 2022 and 2023”, as being key to his selection to ride the #44 Honda in the 2025 EWC.
What’s his EWC event knowledge like? “I know that Le Mans is the hardest of the races, it is a very hard circuit, and you can find some cold temperatures that can complicate things. I’ve been told that Spa is a beautiful and exciting circuit, especially the fast part that is done at full throttle. The Bol d’Or is an historic race, the first motorcycle race for 24 hours in the world and a reference for all motorcycle enthusiasts.”
How’s he prepared? “For the EWC I have changed my training a lot both physically and on the bike, I am focusing on long durations both with running on foot and in the training stints on the bike.”
And the target for 2025? Giannini will combine his EWC campaign with a season in the Campionato Italiano Velocità. His EWC goal is clear: “My goal this season, together with the No Limits Motor Team, is to fight for the title of the Stock category. It will not be easy but it is a great challenge because there are many strong and experienced teams.”
Giannini’s EWC adventure with Honda No Limits begins with the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans in France next month (17-20 April). Click HERE for ticket information.
